ABOUT US
Small moments.
Real relationships.
Lasting change.
Jam & Bread Collective was created from a simple belief: young people facing barriers deserve someone in their corner, practical opportunities and a place where they feel they belong.
Through mentoring and real work experience in our deli, we help young people build confidence, develop skills and take positive steps towards their future.
Our story, our purpose, our people.
OUR STORY
Jam & Bread began as a local deli built around good food, warm service and community connection.
As we met more young people facing challenges, we saw the need for something more — time, support and opportunities that go beyond a single transaction.
Jam & Bread Collective CIC was created to use our space, our experience and our values to deliver a mentoring programme that opens doors and helps young people build brighter futures..
From a deli idea to a community mission.
A love of good food brought us together.
The need to make a difference keeps us together.
For most young people, the transition into adulthood comes with a safety net of family support, guidance and somewhere to turn when things get difficult. For many care-experienced young people and care leavers, that journey can be very different.
Despite their resilience, care leavers continue to face significant barriers to employment, housing, education and wellbeing.
WHY OUR WORK MATTERS
Real relationships
We invest time in getting to know each young person, building trust and providing consistent one-to-one support.
Real experiences
Hands-on experience in our working deli gives young people practical skills, confidence and a genuine sense of achievement.
Rooted locally
We’re proud to be part of the South Devon community, working with local organisations, businesses and people to create positive change.
